Troubleshooting
I can't
receive calls
Possible trouble
on one phone or piece of equipment can cause trouble on the telephone
line until that piece of equipment is removed. If you are unable
to receive calls, try the following:
Self-Tests
- First, verify
that your phone's ringer is turned on.
- If you have
Call Forwarding, check to make sure it is turned on or off.
- Unplug all
telephone devices (a telephone device may be a telephone set,
cordless telephone, answering machine, fax machine, computer modem
or satellite receiver) from their baseboard or wall jacks inside
your home.
- After a few
minutes, try one of the phones in several of the jacks. If the
phone does not work in several of the jacks, repeat the test with
a different phone.
- If the second
phone works, then the first phone is likely the problem. If your
second or third phone does not work in any of the jacks, you may
have trouble with your home's inside wiring or repairs may need
to be made to your outside line.
- If you are
unable to clear the trouble, call our repair service at 374-1238
(Delmar customers dial local 574-1238).
Did the troubleshooting
self-tests help clear your problem?
