Troubleshooting
I have
dial tone, but can't make phone calls.
If you have
dial tone but can't call out, the trouble may be in the phone, the
phone cord or within the inside wiring.
Self-Tests
- Check to
make sure that you are not subscribed to a call restriction feature,
such as Per Call One Plus Blocking or Bulk One Plus Blocking.
- If you can
make local calls, but can't dial a long distance number, go to
troubleshooting for Can't Make Long Distance Calls.
- Take a different
phone or cord and plug it into the wall or baseboard jack. If
the phone works, the problem is with the first phone or cord.
- If the phone
does not work, the problem is likely within the inside wiring.
- Replace the
jack or repair the faulty inside wiring.
- If you are
unable to clear the trouble, call our repair service at 374-1238
(Delmar customers dial local 574-1238).
