CALAMUS FIRE DEPARTMENT RECEIVES CHARITY GRANT, MATCHING
FUNDS
WHEATLAND (IOWA)
Calamus Volunteer Fire Department is the recipient of a $375 Iowa
Network Services (INS) Charity Grant, plus a $375 matching contribution
from F&B Communications, the local telecommunications provider
in Calamus.
The grant funds will be used by the Fire Department to purchase
new pagers for volunteer firemen.
“As citizens and business owners we are fortunate to have
an active group of volunteers ready to serve in emergencies,”
said Aaron Horman, F&B Communications marketing manager. “It
is reassuring to know our volunteers are outfitted with updated
communications equipment.”
F&B Communications is one of 156 Iowa independent telephone
company member-owners of INS, which helps to provide advanced telecommunications
and data services. INS established the grant program to bring INS
closer to its member companies and customers.
“INS was created to provide quality telecommunications in
these communities,” said INS President Richard M. Vohs. “The
Charity Grant Program is a way INS can help meet community needs.”
F&B Communications
is the local telecommunications provider offering telephone, cable
television, digital broadcast satellite, dial-up Internet, high-speed
DSL Internet and wireless PCS services to customers in the Bennett,
Calamus, Delmar, Lowden and Wheatland exchanges and surrounding
areas.
The charity grant program is open to non-profit organizations in
the F&B Communications service area. Grant applications are
available at the business office in Wheatland.
